Nigil is a Brooklyn based photographer, visual artist, & producer. Originally from Atlanta, he is also a proud graduate of Hampton University. Upon graduating, Nigil moved to New York City and launched Nigil Crawford Photography. His eye for capturing an image is one that can be described as “exquisite.”

His portraits are not just images. They are declarations. Invitations to see Blackness beyond the frame imposed by history. Whether shooting for global platforms or capturing quiet moments in community, Crawford’s work centers the emotional, spiritual, and visual richness of life.

Crawford’s photographs have been featured in Essence, Teen Vogue, BET Networks, Good Morning America, CNN, Complex, The New York Times, and more. From editorial spreads to cultural campaigns, his imagery consistently asks: What happens when we take control of our own narrative?

Armed with a camera, he’s effortlessly shot thousands of images that encapsulates the voice of his muses. As a Black creative, he aims to use photography as a tool of resistance while capturing history and fellow creatives in real time. He believes everyone and everything should be represented in their most authentic form there is.
